Meet Our NEPDEC Founder Linda Trompetter, Ph.D.

15477_10151570288033906_1968378797_nLinda Trompetter has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s Degree in Religion Studies from Harvard University and a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. After completing her doctorate, Linda completed studies and workshops with the Anti-Defamation League World of Difference Program and the National MultiCultural Institute in Washington, D.C. She has been an active diversity consultant, trainer, and curriculum designer, since 1993.

Trompetter has served as a tenured professor of philosophy and Director of Women Studies at  Missouri State University ,Associate Academic Dean and Director of Graduate Programs and Special Assistant to the President for Diversity at Misericordia University.

She founded the Diversity Institute at Misericordia University in 1992, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Diversity Education Consortium (NEPDEC) in 1998, a 22-member regional educational resource that provides programming, training, and curricular planning to businesses, healthcare systems, school districts, colleges, and universities ( While at Misericordia, she founded the Diversity Institute Multicultural Leadership Camp.  She retired from NEPDEC in 2018 and now serves as a consultant.
