Meet Our Director Brad Kovaleski

Brad Kovaleski joined Penn State University in January of 2016 as the Director of Student Services & Engagement. In this role Brad oversees Student Activities, Off Campus Housing, Leadership Programs, Community Service, Student Transition Programs, Diversity & Inclusion Programs, Career Services, Health Services, Counseling Services, Student Government Association, Student Conduct, Behavior Threat Management Team, and Family Programs.

Additionally, Brad serves on the Penn State Commission for Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity’s annual conference planning team and has implemented several LGBTQIA programs/workshops/trainings for our campus with his colleagues Ray Petren and Caressa Olivo. In the past 2 years they have trained faculty/staff in how to be an ally and create a welcoming climate for our students! Prior to joining PSU Brad served as Assistant Dean of Students at Franklin & Marshall College for 4 years, and then Executive Director for Student Development at Slippery Rock University where he worked for 9 years.

Brad earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Masters in College Student Personnel both at Slippery Rock University. Currently working on his PhD, Brad is hoping to begin data collection “soon” for his dissertation where he will be exploring the factors defining employee engagement in organizations.
